MIM Process
  • Thin-type

The most suitable wall thickness for MIM is no more than 6mm. Thicker outer wall is acceptable, but the cost will be increased due to the longer processing time and extra material used. In addition, ultra thin wall which less than 0.5mm is still possible to make, however, it requires strictly high standard for design.

  • Yield

MIM is a technology with better elasticity, it can be economically achieved to produce thousands output to even millions. Similar to casting and injection parts, customers need to invest molds and fixtures for MIM. Therefore, cost estimates will be affected for small batches.

  • Raw material

MIM technology can handle a variety of materials, including iron alloy, super alloy, titanium alloy, copper alloy, fire proof metal, hard alloy, ceramic and metal matrix composite materials. Although nonferrous aluminum and copper are feasible from technology perspective, usually people choose more economic way to handle, such as casting or machining.
